The Office of Asian American Affairs (OAAA) is an agency that serves as a bridge between the Nassau County government and its Asian population to advance the economic, employment, business and cultural opportunities for the Asian-American residents. OAAA is responsible for tracking and identifying emerging trends and needs, delivery resources and support the overall Asian owned businesses community.

Nassau County Economic Development Departments

The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is committed to supporting all of the communities within Nassau County, by implementing and monitoring programs and grants initiated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  OHCD is building a stronger community through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program, as well as other programs.

The Office of Hispanic Affairs (OHA) is a Department of Nassau County tasked with serving as the liaison between County government and its large Hispanic population.  OHA’s mission is to coordinate resources for the Hispanic community with the goal of educating, empowering and developing integration initiatives that will foster greater participation in Nassau County’s social, economic, and civic life.

Office of Housing

Nassau County Economic Development Departments

The Office of Housing oversees Section 8 Tenant Based Vouchers, Project Based Vouchers, and Home Ownership Vouchers to increase the affordable housing choices for families with income below 50% of the area’s median income. This includes assisting first-time homeowners with their monthly home ownership expenses.

Its mandated mission is to serve as a partner to the citizens of Nassau County in strengthening and building communities through programs which promote the development, advancement, and betterment of economic, employment, business, and cultural opportunities for the minority residents of the county and the improvement and stabilization of economically deprived areas in the county. The programs where OMA can be of assistance include HUD Section 3 Program, MWBE Program, DBE Program, SDVOB Program, Affirmative Action, EEOP Utilization, Civil Service Exams.

Workforce Development

​​​​​​​The OSW Supply Chain web platform was created as a part of the Institute for Workforce Development, a 501c3 non-profit, and serves as a trusted resource to assist all stakeholders, including businesses and local communities, in understanding how they can engage in the future of offshore wind development.  The platform provides insights and best practices, including project requirements; how to provide products and services to prime contractors and OEMs; information on federal and state regulations; and workforce development requirements.

The Nassau County Planning Department is comprised of two divisions: comprehensive planning and transportation. The comprehensive planning division incorporates the planning commission to oversee the orderly growth and development of the County seeking to balance economic growth with environmental protection and historic preservation. The overriding mission for the Nassau County Planning Department's Transportation Division is to support the safe and efficient movement of people and goods throughout the County.

Incubators

SpringBoard Incubators, Inc bridges the “digital” and “knowledge divide” through educational programs in technology. Their focus is to prepare individuals interested in pursuing careers in computer science and technology by putting them through technology workshops such as Data Science, Cybersecurity, Web Application Development and Robotics Workshops.  Some students will be able to achieve the skills necessary to perform tasks as an entry-level programmer, data analyst or data scientist.  Students will be better prepared to succeed at earning a higher-level degree in any field in technology.
