Nassau County is comprised of two (2) cities, three (3) towns, sixty-four (64) incorporated villages, and more than sixty (60) unincorporated hamlets. Each of these local municipalities have established their own respective zonings and building codes. A hamlet is an unincorporated village which is a subdivision of the town or city in which it is located and is therefore subject to that town or city’s zoning and building codes
