When Nassau County’s Morrelly Center for Homeland Security became the first center of its kind to bring together first responders and high-tech companies in a collaborative environment, V.C.O.R.E. became an immediate example of the center’s fruitful results.
V.C.O.R.E. Solutions, one of the first companies launched in the Morrelly Center, is a joint venture between two Long Island-based technology leaders, Balfour Technologies and Power Management Concepts (PMC). V.C.O.R.E. provides real world solutions for homeland security, emergency preparedness, and rapid response environments. With the company’s technologies developed with feedback from Morrelly tenants like the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI, V.C.O.R.E.’s product has been adopted as the Command and Control virtual operating platform of the Homeland Security Applied Science Center for Homeland Security Innovation (COIE) in Bethpage, NY. CEO Eduardo Brown, a former Grumman engineer, hopes to grow the 16-person company nearly five-fold in the coming years.
