Nassau County is also home to many high-profile professional sporting events. Belmont Racetrack is home to the Belmont Stakes, the third jewel in horse racing’s Triple Crown. The Bethpage Golf Course, located in Bethpage State Park, has hosted the U.S. Open Golf Tournament several times. The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale is home to the four-time Stanley Cup Champion New York Islanders of the National Hockey League.
