The Nassau County IDA is connected. And we can help you make the right connections so you can make the most of the wide range of services and resources available to businesses in Nassau County. Our partners are eager to assist with additional services from loans to tax credits to workforce training.

Below are just a few of our partner organizations and a sampling of the services they provide:

Loans & Tax Credits

  The Nassau County Office of Economic Development specializes in helping small to medium businesses grow and become more profitable. For example, the Excelsior Jobs Program provides tax credit incentives to eligible businesses.
The New York Business Development Corporation works with partner banks to make loans to small and medium businesses, with a special emphasis on assisting minority and women-owned businesses.

High-Tech

The Long Island Forum for Technology (LIFT) works to create an environment for innovation by providing technology-related businesses with networking opportunities, access to enabling technologies, hands-on assistance and more.
Empire State Development is New York State’s comprehensive economic development agency. Among programs offered to New York businesses are the Small Business Revolving Loan Fund to improve access to capital for small businesses and the Excelsior Jobs Program to provide tax credits for companies creating high-tech and clean energy jobs.

Workforce

  The New York State Department of Labor offers access to skilled employee databases, job-posting opportunities, training grants and tax credits for targeted hiring, among many other workforce programs.
The Long Island Works Coalition is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting area employers with a skilled labor pool through academic partnerships, internship matching and industry-specific advisory councils.

Entrepreneurs & Small Business

Empire State Development is New York State’s comprehensive economic development agency. Among programs offered to New York businesses are the Small Business Revolving Loan Fund to improve access to capital for small businesses and the Excelsior Jobs Program to provide tax credits for companies creating high-tech and clean energy jobs.
The Long Island Development Corp provides low cost loan programs, free technical assistance, fundraising assistance for entrepreneurs and more.

Utility Savings

  The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) provides initiatives to reduce business energy costs, including load shifting, Empire Zone rates, efficiency programs and more.
National Grid, Nassau County’s provider of natural gas, can save businesses up to 15% on natural gas costs. National Grid also offers assistance with solar power installations, energy efficiency testing and other energy-saving measures.
